 "Worth It" — Woman Pleads Guilty to Fatally Shooting 11-Month-Old Son to Keep Him From Father Madeline Veronique Daly, 36, pleaded guilty this week in Silver City, New Mexico, to first-degree murder in the December 23, 2025 killing of her 11-month-old son, Basil Stoner. Grant County deputies had tracked her to an RV off Highway 15 on a Wyoming kidnapping warrant after she took the baby during a custody dispute with his father, Jake Stoner. While officers waited for a warrant and tried to negotiate, Daly put a 9mm handgun to the boy’s face and fired. According to the criminal complaint, Daly told investigators her thought when she saw law enforcement approach was: “Jake can’t get Basil.” After her arrest she said it was “worth it” if Basil’s father and his family never got him. A BAUCHI STATE TV JOURNALIST ALIYU,SLUMPED AND DIED YESTERDAY.

                 37 year old Mallam Ibrahim Aliyu,who is a Government House correspondent of the Bauchi state Television,was writing his report on the Armed Forces Remembrance Day,when he suddenly collapsed.He was rushed to the hospital,where he was confirmed dead.According to Mallam Kabiru Iiela,his cameraman,who witnessed the incident said that the late Aliyu had worked throughout the day and was compiling his report at about 5:30pm yesterday thursday,when he suddenly started jerking.''He had his meal by his side as he was writing the report,when his mood suddenly changed and he started jerking,collapsing in the process.We raised alarm and sought for help to convey him to the hospital.On reaching the Abubaka Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital,a doctor confirmed that he had died''.He left behind two wives,six children,an aged mother and four brothers.He was buried today in accordance with Islamic injunctions in Bauchi.May his soul rest in peace Amen.
