 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. KOGI GOVERNOR WADA,DECLARED A SEVEN DAY MOURNING FOR LATE AUDU.

                   Today monday Kogi Governor Idris Wada confirmed the death of Alhaji Abubakar Audu.Wada,who made the confirmation in a statewide broadcast to the people today monday said Audu died yesterday sunday at his Ogbonicha village in ofu Local Government Area of Kogi.The governor condoled with the family and people of the state over the demise,describing the late Audu as a man of the people who laid solid foundation for the growth and development of the state.He them declared monday as public holiday to enable the people,especially the civil servants to attend the burial and pay their last respect.Wada also declared a seven day mourning during which the national flag would fly at half mast and office activities scalled down.The burial of Audu had been shifted to from 11:00am to 4:00pm today,this is to allow his friends,relations and fellow politicians who are coming from far and near to witness the burial.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
