 LAWMA Waste, Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement operatives on night duty have apprehended two environmental offenders along the Jibowu and Ojota corridors of Ikorodu Road for engaging in illegal waste collection and indiscriminate disposal of refuse at unauthorized locations. The suspects, were arrested during routine surveillance operations after being found carrying out activities that constitute environmental nuisance and undermine approved waste management processes, despite repeated warnings and sensitization efforts. The offenders are being transferred to the Oshodi Task Force Office for prosecution through the Mobile Court in accordance with the environmental protection laws of Lagos State. LAWMA reiterates that illegal waste collection and indiscriminate dumping remain punishable offences. GOV. ORTOM MEETS WITH STAKEHOLDERS FROM FIVE LGAs TOMORROW.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, willl meet with major stakeholders from Katsina-Ala, Ukum , Logo, Kwande and Gboko local government areas at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House at 11 am prompt, tomorrow, Thursday , 25th, April, 2019.
The agenda of the meeting will be a discussion of the prevailing security challenges in those areas.
A formal invitation to the meeting is being extended to the concerned stakeholders not specifically mentioned.
These include District Heads, Third, Second and First Class Traditional Rulers, local government chairmen, serving and elected Natonal and State Assembly members, selected religious leaders as well as other prominent sons and daughters from the local government areas.
A similar meeting will be held with stakeholders from Agatu local government area at the same venue to discuss same agenda on Friday, 26th April, 2019 at 10 am.
