 Workers will rather work for free than accept N48,000 — NLC The Nigeria Labour Congress has warned that it would rather mobilise workers to remain at home with their families or offer free services than accept the paltry N48,000 new minimum wage being offered by the Federal Government when they meet on Tuesday.      'The first ever Cricket World Cup took place in England in 1975 and I'm delighted that the UK will once again play host to this wonderful global sporting event featuring ten incredible teams who, thanks to the UK’s cultural diversity, will feel as though they are competing in front of a home crowd every time they take to the field.'
Yesterday, The Duke of Sussex attended the opening match of the Cricket World Cup which featured England vs South Africa.
The ICC Cricket World Cup, which takes place from 30th May to 14th July, is being hosted by England and Wales and features the world’s top ten teams, nine of whom are from the Commonwealth.
Over one million people are expected to attend matches and World Cup activations in England and Wales, with a further 1.5 billion watching around the world.
Before the match began, The Duke met children involved in youth engagement programmes around the tournament including flag bearers, anthem children and students from a local school who will be involved in the opening sequences.More photos below.
