 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. BREAKING: Dan Foster, popular radio personality, is dead
  According to sources, the veteran radio host died around 1pm on Wednesday.
“He died today around 1pm. His wife is currently at the isolation centre in Yaba as we speak,” said the source.
While the cause of his death is yet to be confirmed — as of the time this report was filed — immediate suspicion is that he died of COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.
Prior to his demise, Foster, who is well known among his fans as ‘The Big Dawg’ and ‘Top Dawg’worked with Cool FM, Inspiration FM, City FM and Classic FM.
He was a judge on ‘Nigeria’s Got Talent’ alongside Kate Henshaw, a Nollywood actress, and Yibo Koko, a comedian.
The radio personality was also a former judge of ‘Idols West Africa’ series. He held a similar position with the ‘Got Talent’ franchise.
Foster passed away days after Ibidun Ighodalo, wife of Ituah Ighodalo, senior pastor of Trinity House Church in Lagos, died of heart attack in her sleep while in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers state.
Quite a number of Nigerians, including celebrities, have taken to social media platforms to pay their last respect as words of the radio host’s death spread.One more photo below.
