 PRESIDENT  TINUBU APPOINTS NASIR NAEEM ABDULSALAM AS MD, AJAOKUTA STEEL COMPANY  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,  has approved the appointment of Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam as the Managing Director, Ajaokuta Steel Company. The appointment takes effect from 3rd April, 2025 and  is in accordance with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008 as amended.  Until his appointment, Nasir served as the Technical Adviser to the Honourable Minister of Steel Development as well as the Special Assistant (Academics) to Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) . President Tinubu tasks the appointee to leverage on his wealth of experience in the steel industry in his new assignment in revolutionising the company to generate important upstream and downstream industrial and economic activities that will position the nation as the industrial hub of Africa in line wi...

 Hisbah arrests Jigawa commissioner with married woman in Kano


The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the arrest and confinement of Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Commissioner of Special Duties from Jigawa State, who was found in an uncompleted building with a married woman.


Dr. Abba Sufi, the Director General of the board, has verified the apprehension of Sankara, who was found with the married woman on Friday evening.


He mentioned that the arrest was facilitated by careful tracking, following multiple complaints about his illicit activities with the married woman, which were reported by her husband’s younger brother.


He said, “Yes, it is true, we have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner, with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him.


“Unknown to him that we were tracking him based on reports against him that we received.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
