Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  Hisbah arrests Jigawa commissioner with married woman in Kano


The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the arrest and confinement of Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Commissioner of Special Duties from Jigawa State, who was found in an uncompleted building with a married woman.


Dr. Abba Sufi, the Director General of the board, has verified the apprehension of Sankara, who was found with the married woman on Friday evening.


He mentioned that the arrest was facilitated by careful tracking, following multiple complaints about his illicit activities with the married woman, which were reported by her husband’s younger brother.


He said, “Yes, it is true, we have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner, with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him.


“Unknown to him that we were tracking him based on reports against him that we received.
