 UK Govt invests $6m in InfraCredit to boost Nigeria’s Energy transition, infrastructure The United Kingdom has announced an investment of $6 million towards unlocking domestic capital for Nigeria’s infrastructure development and energy transition. The investment was made through its MOBILIST programme to support the listing of InfraCredit on the NASD OTC Exchange Plc. The total listing by InfraCredit, Nigeria’s first and only domestic credit guarantor, is valued at N64 billion ($41 million). The company successfully raised NGN27 billion ($17.7 million) in new equity as part of the transaction. The investment from MOBILIST will further enable InfraCredit to expand its guarantee capacity and support a broader pipeline of infrastructure projects across the country.  Hisbah arrests Jigawa commissioner with married woman in Kano


The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the arrest and confinement of Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Commissioner of Special Duties from Jigawa State, who was found in an uncompleted building with a married woman.


Dr. Abba Sufi, the Director General of the board, has verified the apprehension of Sankara, who was found with the married woman on Friday evening.


He mentioned that the arrest was facilitated by careful tracking, following multiple complaints about his illicit activities with the married woman, which were reported by her husband’s younger brother.


He said, “Yes, it is true, we have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner, with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him.


“Unknown to him that we were tracking him based on reports against him that we received.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
