The ripple effects of the grand funeral of the late former National Electoral Commission's(NEC) Chairman, Prof. Humphrey Nwosu are still reverberating as some eminent Nigerians are clamouring for his immortalization.

The traditional ruler of Ndiokpalaeze, Eze Frederick Okoli in a press statement in Awka, urged the federal government to speedily immortalize Prof.Nwosu an icon of Nigeria's democracy.

Eze Okoli eulogized the late NEC boss as a great Igbo patriot who conducted the freest and most credible election in the history of Nigeria, adopting the option A4 voting system which produced the late Moshood Abiola as the winner of the 1993 presidential election.

On his part, a former Awka branch Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief Emma Odum described the late Prof. Nwosu as Nigeria's father of democracy and a game changer who should properly be immortalized.

Contributing, a community leader of Isi Achina origin, Chief Joseph Nwakpadolu, urged the Anambra State Government to immortalize Prof. Nwosu in the absence of the federal government's feet dragging posture in giving proper honour to the true Igbo hero of democracy.

A former Awka Zonal Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr.bJohnson Ezedinachi called for the immortalization of Prof. Nwosu and suggested that institutions such as the federal Polytechnic Oko and the College of Agriculture Mgbakwu in Anambra State be named after him.
