 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  ‘Ordinary Nigerians not his priority’ – Atiku slams Tinubu over Plateau visit


Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has faulted President Bola Tinubu’s decision to visit Plateau State on Saturday to attend the funeral of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

Atiku said Tinubu attended a social event in Plateau instead of visiting victims and consoling communities ravaged by insecurity.

He made this known in a post on his verified X handle on Saturday, describing Tinubu’s visit to Plateau State — one of the areas hardest hit by violent attacks — as a sad reflection of priorities and a mockery of leadership.

According to him, it was regrettable that the President chose to visit Plateau State to attend a funeral event associated with the APC chairman rather than commiserate with victims of the persistent killings and displacement across the region.

“With large swathes of the country still under siege from unrelenting insecurity and thousands of innocent lives lost, it is deeply unfortunate that President Bola Tinubu has not, for once, found it worthy to visit any of the affected states to commiserate with the grieving citizens,” Atiku said.
