 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University. CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE CONFIRMS THE DEATH OF ONE OF HER TWIN BOYS. (PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE.

We're deeply saddened to confirm the passing of one of Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie & Dr lvara Esege's twin boys, Nkanu Nnamdi, who passed on Wednesday, 7th of January 2026, after a brief illness. 
He was 21 months old. 

The family is devastated by this profound loss, and we request that their privacy be respected during this incredibly difficult time. 
We ask for your grace and prayers as they mourn in private. 
No further statements will be made, and we thank the public and the media for respecting their need for seclusion during this period of immense grief.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
