Nick Cannon has revealed that therapy plays a central role in his life, sharing that he attends sessions four times a week.
Speaking with Iyanla Vanzant on his Counsel Culture Show, the entertainer explained that he first began therapy while studying for his Master’s in psychology, but it has since become something he deeply values.
He described the sessions as “waste management,” a place where he can release emotions, reflect, and sometimes cry, helping him maintain balance and clarity.
Cannon emphasized that therapy isn’t about solving everything but about creating space to process feelings and expand what he calls his “spiritual bandwidth.”
He explained that the practice allows him to unload stress before it overwhelms him, giving him the ability to stay grounded despite the pressures of his career and personal life. For him, therapy has become a consistent tool for self-care and emotional resilience.
The actor and host, who is father to 12 children with six different women, also recalled advice from his therapist about celibacy back in 2021.
While acknowledging the suggestion, Cannon said he always dreamed of having a large family and believes his children are a blessing.
His openness about therapy and personal choices highlights his commitment to mental health while navigating the complexities of fame, family, and responsibility.
