The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. Our enforcement teams are led by seasoned, well-trained, and highly disciplined senior officers who are far too professional and educated to jeopardise their ranks, integrity, and years of service for personal gain. SHIITES INVADE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TODAY IN OTHER TO FREE EL-ZAKZAKY.{PHOTOS}.

     Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria staged a protest at the entrance of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Shouting “Allah Akbar,” the protesters forcefully entered the Assembly complex.
They moved towards the second gate which leads to the chambers, as policemen on security duty at the complex advised them against the action.
The Shiites have regularly held street protests to press for the release of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who has been in detention since December 2015.
Zakzaky is being held by the Department of State Security, while facing charges for culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace.More details later and more photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
