 Nigerian military jet crashes in Niger A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet has reportedly crashed near Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, on Saturday evening, December 6. Unconfirmed reports from local sources clam that the two pilots onboard survived the incident after successfully ejecting from the aircraft. A Niger state-based digital television network, Lapai TV, announced the tragic incident  in a post on its official Facebook account on Saturday evening, December 6. The post, accompanied by a one-minute video, read, “Two Nigerian Air Force Pilots Reportedly Survive Alpha Jet Crash Close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State”. It was reported that the two pilots successfully ejected before the aircraft went down. Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has yet to make any official statement concerning about the crash as of the time of filing this report.

     Vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has paid a condolence visit to Pa Reuben Fasoranti whose daughter, Funke Olakunrin was killed. The daughter of the leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, was killed while travelling on Friday, July 12.The vice president on Sunday, July 14 paid a condolence visit to the Afenifere leader at his house in Ondo state. Osinbajo also extended his condolence to Idowu Olakunrin, the widower.He prayed that God would comfort the families of the deceased. The vice president also said the federal government would deploy soldiers to highways to increase security and protect travellers.Earlier media report stats that Funke was shot on Friday, July 12. Sources said she was coming from Lagos when her vehicle was attacked by kidnappers in Ore in Ondo state. A source confirmed the tragic incident. He said the kidnappers also engage in armed robbery. The police said three vehicles were attacked by the kidnappers and that one of the passengers, Gerald Igboroka was yet to be found by the police.More photos below.
