2027: ‘Nigerians may take over their country’ – Prof Utomi warns INEC over restrictions at polling units A member of the Movement for Credible Elections, Prof. Pat Utomi, has said that Nigerians will have no choice but to take over their country if the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, does not allow people to go to polling units with devices that can make elections more transparent. He said that telling Nigerians not to go to polling stations with technological equipment to allow them to stream live updates would mean that INEC was acting criminally. Speaking on Arise News on Tuesday, Utomi pointed out that in the United Kingdom and the United States, people hardly have a clue who the chair of the electoral commission is, as results come from the media monitoring the elections. Anambra Assembly Condemns Alleged Damage to Ndiukwuenu-Awgbu Road Project ‎ ‎By Mokwugwo Ogochukwu ‎ ‎The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has condemned the alleged destruction of sections of the ongoing Ndiukwuenu-Awgbu Road project by land developers, warning that such actions could undermine the state's investment in critical infrastructure. ‎ ‎The committee raised the concern during an inspection tour of major road projects in Aguata Local Government Area on July 2 to assess the quality of work and the level of progress on government-funded projects. ‎ ‎Chairman of the committee, Engr. Emma Nwafor, described the reported activities of the developers, who allegedly used heavy equipment to damage portions of the road project, as unacceptable. Buhari, Boss Mustapha should have been prosecuted for $6.2m cash withdrawal from CBN, says Jim Obazee Jim Obazee, a prosecution witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), says late President Muhammadu Buhari and Boss Mustapha, former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), should have been prosecuted over alleged fraudulent withdrawal of $6.23 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Obazee testified before Hamza Muazu, the presiding judge at the Federal Capital Territory high court, on Friday, in the ongoing trial of Godwin Emefiele, former governor of the CBN.

 Idemili North Mayor Warns Revenue Collectors Against Harassing Manufacturers By Uzo Ugwunze The Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Stanley Nkwoka, has warned revenue collectors against harassing industries under the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN). Nkwoka gave the warning during a stakeholders' engagement between MAN and local government authorities in Anambra State, held in Onitsha on July 1. He described the reported harassment of manufacturers by revenue collectors as worrisome and directed that no tax collector should approach any MAN member company until a joint committee comprising representatives of local governments and MAN is constituted to harmonise tax administration.
